Description
Classified as vulnerable by the IUCN, the life expectancy of the Hartmann's Zebra (equus hartmannae) is between 25 to 30 years. They are not considered seasonal breeders since mares can foal any time of the year, but most foal sometime during the rainy season when the grass is at its best. Gestation, is 300 to 365 days. These diurnal herbivores are good climbers. Approximately 25000 are left in the wild. These fighting stallions were photographed in Etosha National Park, Namibia, Southern Africa.
